Vafi Atelier is an interiors and infrastructure practice working out of Mumbai. We take a brief from first conversation to finished handover, and we hold one line of responsibility the whole way.
01 / Who we are
One practice, one point of accountability
Most interiors work fails in the gaps — between the drawing and the site, the designer and the contractor, the promise and the finish. We built this practice to remove those gaps. Design and delivery sit under one roof, so there is never a question of whose responsibility a detail was.
We work across residential, commercial and hospitality briefs, and we advise on infrastructure projects where judgement is needed before drawings are. The scale varies. The standard does not.
The point of it
A space is judged on the hundredth day, not the first.
Photographs are taken the week a project finishes. What decides whether it was any good is quieter and later — whether the joinery still runs true, whether the storage still suits the household, whether the detail still reads as considered a year on.

Considered design
Every scheme starts with how a space will actually be used, not with a style. Decisions are made for reasons we can explain to you.
Control on site
We direct procurement, sequencing and supervision ourselves. Nothing is left to be coordinated between parties who have never met.
Quality of finish
The joint you notice a year later is the one that matters. We specify and inspect to that standard, not to the photograph.
Straight answers
If something is not achievable, we say so at the point it is still cheap to change — not after it has been built.

A clear brief before anything is drawn. A scheme you can see and interrogate before anything is built. One team accountable from the first meeting to the final walk-through — and a practice that would rather decline work than deliver it badly.
The measure of it
A flat in Bandra and a hotel floor in Dubai answer to the same standard.
Scale changes the programme, the trades and the size of the drawing set. It does not change what we are willing to sign off.

A scheme is only worth the detail behind it. We resolve junctions, tolerances and services before anything is ordered, because the cost of changing a line on a drawing is nothing next to the cost of changing it on site.
